#ThisIsEngineering is a campaign run by the Royal Academy of Engineering in collaboration with EngineeringUK, to raise awareness of the opportunities to more young people, from all backgrounds about the opportunity to explore how they can follow what they love into a varied and fulfilling engineering career across a range of industries.
Year of Engineering
Launched in the government’s Year of Engineering, #ThisIsEngineering aims to up the cool factor of core engineering skills and is being backed by a group of major engineering companies to tackle the skills shortage in the UK.
Findings from an EngineeringUK report show that there is an annual demand for at least 124,000 engineers and technicians with core engineering skills, and an additional 79,000 roles that require engineering knowledge and skills alongside other skill sets.
Generation Z
Generation Z is looking for a career that allows them to bring ideas to life, shape the future and help others and so #ThisIsEngineering focuses on how young people can work on what they love within engineering.
