Hull Self Storage provides convenient, safe and secure indoor and outdoor storage units to residential and business customers in the Hull area.

In a growing market with huge potential for expansion, Hull Self Storage’s Managing Director, Andy Dickerson wanted to create more space on his premises, situated on the same site as his removal firm, Britannia Appleyards.

As a business owner, Andy believes the sky is the limit and his plans were to build upwards as well. Following extensive research, Andy discovered a storage system in Holland that he wanted to replicate here in Hull.

Stead Engineering delivered the main construction following architect’s drawings, within timescales and budget. The project includes; two storey units built on top of each other with galvanised steel walkways, extra wide stairways, and safety protection anti fall barriers, hand rails and kicking plates. All of which comply with Health & Safety requirements for allowing members of the public, to freely move around the site with their precious items.

Andy Dickerson says:

“This is a growth business and we are finding people want to store their items for many different reasons and this project has allowed us to expand our capacity. It is highly competitive but we find providing a simple straightforward storage option, with easy access and secure facilities means our customers also recommend us to their friends and family.”

“The project took six months from start to finish and all went to plan without a hitch. Stead’s experienced engineers were able to amend the architect’s plan to suit the final construction of the frame work.”

“We had a great team of engineers onsite for the build, they made useful suggestions which have improved the overall finish of the facility and I am delighted with the finished result which is now bringing in extra revenue into the business.”
